Elk Haven offers comprehensive programs to meet the changing needs of both our short-term residents recovering from surgery or an acute illness as well as long-term care residents. Our center is designed with safety and security for your loved ones.
Elk Haven is certified for both Medicare and Medicaid, is a member of the PA Association for County and Affiliated Homes (PACAH), the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce, and is licensed by the PA Department of Health.
Facility
Elk Haven residents have access to beautiful common spaces that can be enjoyed with friends or family. Other amenities include:
- Beautifully decorated rooms with electric beds, television, telephone, emergency call system, spacious closets and bathrooms.
- Housekeeping, Maintenance and Laundry provided daily.
- Outdoor patio/gazebo area.
Medical
Care is provided 24/7 by registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and nursing assistants and overseen by the center Medical Director as well as the resident's physician. Family members are always invited to participate in the care planning process.

- A registered dietician is available to accommodate any special diet needs and to provide physician-ordered therapeutic diets. Residents are served three well-balanced, nutritious meals with many menu options and snacks are always available.
Elk Haven also offers physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech-language pathology 7 days a week.
Social
- A variety of social events and recreational activities are offered, including community outings, 7 days a week and evenings. Staff provide a variety of stimulating individual and group programs, including: bingo, gardening, cards, crafts, cooking therapy, bible study, birthday/anniversary parties, holiday-themed events and much more.
- On-site barber and beautician services.
- Social Services are available to help residents and family members maintain or improve their mental, spiritual and psychosocial well-being as well as coordinate discharge planning.
- Worship services are held on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Smoking by residents is not permitted on Elk Haven property. Strict rules apply for smoking by others.
